Remember the Pink Ladies I posted last week? Well a few years later I did the same thing with some old lipstick and blush and this is the result. Same story as before, I didn't want to waste old make up! ^_^

I wish I had better scans of these drawings/paintings. I like these because I did them with left over old lipstick, blush, and eye shadow. I don't wear make up often and yet still seemed to get at least one kit every Christmas back in the day. I hate wasting things so I figured this would be a much better fate for all this old make up rather than just put it in the trash! ^_^

"Horse" (Charcoal on Newsprint Sketch Paper circa 1992)

When I was in about 4th grade, my mother (or was it my grandmother?) bought me books on how to paint and draw (that I still have somewhere in storage I'm sure)... I learned how to draw horses really well and I wish that I still had the sketches I did back in 5th grade... this drawing (from 1992 or so) really pales in comparison. I still have most of the basics here but not nearly as much detail. This is yet another sketch I did in that newsprint sketch pad I had to get for the one art class I took at community college. I didn't mention before that the other reason I didn't take any more art classes was because the teacher was one of those hoity-toity art snob types who seemed to think it was his job to tell us how bad our work was. Way to kill a students dream jerkface! I wonder what he does now and if he still hates his job! :-P

"DBR" (colored pencil on sketchbook paper circa 2005)

I drew this picture of violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) from a concert program. I used to go to his concerts when he was doing his fellowship at ASU. I'm pretty sure I emailed this picture to him but I don't think he ever used it for anything. Untitled Drawing circa 1987 (crayon on sketch paper)

I drew this picture when I was 16 years old from a make up ad in a teen magazine. I haven't had the patience to put this much detail into a drawing since I was in high school. Sad, but true. Maybe after I travel the world I will find the time to be this intricate again. This is another one that is still one of my favorites after all this time.
